Class Descriptions

            
Ashtanga Yoga: Ashtanga is a more rigorous and at times intense form of yoga, which is designed to heat the body very quickly in order to detoxify and remove impurities. This is accomplished by moving through the postures, or asana, in conjunction with breath control. Ashtanga is unique in that it is aerobic in nature, and brings increased strength and flexibility when practiced on a regular basis.
 
Beginning Ashtanga: This class is geared to those with little or no yoga experience who are interested in developing a yoga practice. The class is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels. This class will be taught in English.
 
Cardio Sculpt:   A great combination class sure to maximize your workout time. The instructor will lead you through a combination of aerobic conditioning and toning exercises for a fun, full body workout! 
 
Dash and Splash (Ages 3-5): This is a great way to introduce your child to exercise and swimming. Children will enjoy a ½ hour gym activity combined with ½ hour swim experience. Parents are encouraged to participate. This class is lead by a certified instructor who will encourage family fitness and exercise while having a fun time! Please have your child dressed for land and water activities upon arrival.
 
Kickboxing: All the elements of a real boxer’s training program, but no punching bag or gloves required. You’ll strengthen your legs, upper body and abs with these boxing moves.
 
Lunch Crunch: Stop in for lunch!! A half hour of HARD-CORE Abdominal and Back work!! You’ll stand stronger and feel great the rest of the day!
 
Pilates: Designed to increase flexibility and improve posture, balance and coordination, Pilates focuses on strengthening the body’s core or midsection through a series of exercises designed by Joseph Pilates. This class may use various equipment.
 
Step: This class will use a height-adjustable step and simple movements on, over and around the step to get your fat burning systems in high gear while you shape and tone your body.
 
Stretch/Strength: This class differs from cardiovascular exercise by utilizing two aspects of fitness that relate to your muscular system. Strength exercise can help build muscular endurance, and stretching can help keep our muscles loose, flexible, and healthy. This class is a perfect compliment to your favorite cardio workout!
 
Total Body: The Total Body Workout is designed to give maximum benefit in the most efficient format. You will alternate resistance training exercises with cardio intervals. Tools such as hand weights, bands, Body Bars and other props will be incorporated. Combining upper body, lower body and core work with cardio intervals make this class an excellent choice for a Total Body Workout!! 
 
Yin-Yoga: Suitable and beneficial for all levels of student, as well as those who have never practiced yoga before. Yin Yoga also provides a wonderful compliment to athletes and weight trainers; by increasing flexibility and helping to prevent injury.
                                                                                                                                                                
Yoga: This multi-level class places a strong emphasis on breath, concentration, flexibility and toning. Learn and practice a series of postures from relaxing, restorative to strong poses’ that build strength and improve balance. This class is for all levels. 
 
Yoga Basics:  Ideal for those new to yoga or seeking a gentle practice. This class will use different props: chair, ball, wall, straps and blocks to support the body while you engage your muscles and relax your mind.
 
Zumba: Zumba combines high energy with unique Latin-style moves. Based on the principle that workouts should be fun and easy to do, Zumba is not only great for the body but also the mind! Burn calories and feel great while you are doing it!!
 
20/20/20: This class includes light cardiovascular exercise for the heart, muscular strength and conditioning for healthy bones. Balance and flexibility training make this a total body workout!!
